The results of scientific research in the area of sports medicine show unanimously the necessity for supplementary nutrition to improve different fitness attributes and proper post effort recovery. Impelling the body to make intensive effort without implementing nutritious protection and proper supplementation should be considered a serious mistake. Its consequences may not only influence sports results but health as well. Equally dangerous is using supplements of unknown origin which are often produced from low quality raw materials and in censurable production conditions. They constitute a serious hazard to the health of people doing sports. Such specimens often do not have proper certificates, tests and sales licences.

The possibility of implementing suitable diet supplements should be considered not only in the context of competitive sport but in a generally healthy and active lifestyle. Nowadays, millions of people in Poland, Europe and the whole world jog, ride a bike, swim or climb to stay healthy, fit and in good physical condition. Therefore the choice of supplement, the manufacturer and the conditions of production is an important issue.
